Rosie Huart


Rosie Huart is an award-winning artist, poet, calligrapher, papermaker and educator. She graduated from the University of Dayton with Bachelor's Degrees in both Art and

Psychology and received an Associate Degree In Mental Health Technology from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She is an adjunct professor at Sinclair Community College teaching art since 1995. For nearly twenty years she was co-owner of a highly successful art gallery in Dayton where she managed, implemented, and designed innovative programs for the gallery, the public at large and several local colleges and universities. Her programs included “Evenings of Poetic Art” for the community, the “Red Paper Series” for people with life-threatening illnesses, and painting and bookmaking workshops for cancer survivors.

Rosie trained in workshops with renowned calligraphers, papermakers and painters,

attended classes with master teachers and participated in several international calligraphy conferences throughout the last 30 years. Since 2005 she has given much energy to teaching and conducting workshops throughout the United States, Italy, France and the Greek Isles. As a certified Golden artist-educator, Rosie’s current focus is on calligraphy and mixed media where she incorporates poetry, gestural marks, and lettering into her artistic expressions. She has exhibited throughout the country and the world and her work are in many public and private collections. The International Exhibition of Calligraphy in Moscow has two of her paintings in their permanent collection. Her work is in several published books, such as The Creative Artist, Confident Color and Creative Collage by Nita Leland. She is published in Letter Arts Review the Annual Juried Issue Vol. 26, No.2 and on the cover of Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction Vol. 16, No. 3. Jacqueline Buck compiled Rosie’s work into a book titled Connecting Art &Spirit. Rosie also has a self-published book showcasing her Greece photographs and Haiku.  As an interdisciplinary artist and educator, Rosie believes the making of art as a transformative process impacts the soul’s search for meaning. Her greatest inspiration comes from the power of words and is reflected in her art. Her desire is to enrich people’s lives with the beauty of self-expression.
